Recreational Basketball 2026-27 - Grades 3-8
This recreational program stresses participation, sportsmanship, development of skills and fun. Teams practice once or twice per week on weekdays. You will be notified of your child’s specific practice day and time when your designated coach communicates in November. One or two games during the week and/or weekend.
REGISTRATION: September 29 - October 26
IMPORTANT:
- Due to the large number of registrations, we cannot grant requests for players to be placed with specific teams/coaches.
- Practice and game schedules will not be finalized until 1 week prior to the start of the season. We will not have any additional information regarding the schedule until that time.
- Practice and game schedules are determined based on gym/coach availability.
- All Wilbraham residents must register in Wilbraham
If we do not have enough players to form a Hampden team, players will be able to join a Wilbraham team (likely with a teammate or 2 from Hampden). In that case, you may be asked to participate in the below evaluation day.

11:00-11:45am – 7/8 Girls
11:45-12:30pm – 7/8 Boys
12:30-1:15pm – 3/4 Boys
1:30-2:15pm – 5/6 Girls
2:15-3:00pm – 5/6 Boys
3:00-3:45pm – 3/4 Girls
NOTE: Once teams are formed and players assigned, NO CHANGES will be made.
Recreational Grades 3-8 (Not Coed)
- Teams practice once or twice per week on weekdays beginning in December.
- You will be notified of your child’s specific practice day and time when your designated coach communicates in November.
- Practices will continue once games have started. Games generally start in early January.
- Evaluations are held and required to attend. Evaluations are to make equal teams, everyone registered is placed on a team.
- Participation in another Basketball League (Suburban Basketball, CYO, etc.) and the Wilbraham Rec Basketball League simultaneously is prohibited
